It is with immense delight and anticipation that I welcome your children to the Intermediate School for the 2020–2021 school year. I have to admit that it is strange to be in school without the sound of children learning and the uplifting laughter of innocence. The staff and I are looking forward to seeing your children very soon.

I want to also introduce myself to you as the new principal of the Indian Oasis Intermediate school. My educational background includes a BS in Wildlife and Fishery Science from the University of Arizona and a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University. I was born and raised in Tucson and grew up surrounded by Indigenous Culture. I have been the educational leader in several Native American Schools which included preschool, elementary school, middle school, and high school. I started my career in Tohono O’Odham schools at a charter school in Tucson. I am honored to be here serving the parents and children of the Tohono O'odham Nation. I am looking forward to learning more Himdag and will seek more ways to imbed Himdag into our curriculum. I know in my heart the importance of educating the whole child with cultural competency, while meeting the emotional and physical needs of your child.

Virtual school starts on August 3, 2020. We have worked diligently to implement COVID-19 protocols to ensure the safety of the children and our staff so we will be ready when children arrive on site later this year(?). Please enroll your children as soon as possible. If you need assistance please call the school office (520) 719-2300.

I am always eager to hear from you, please do not hesitate to contact me. Please take care and stay safe.

Respectfully,

Bill Rosenberg
